
HO-CSOs

As part of our call in strengthening Civil society engagements in reducing social disparities and enhancing contributions to Social Justice, Democracy, and Sustainable Development, LoveAid Foundation was elected in 2018 as the District Convener together with five co –conveners endorsed to convene the Ho CSOs Platform the SDGS. The Ho Civil Society Organizations District platform on the Sustainable development goals was established on the 11th December, 2018 following a meeting at the African Hill Hotel in the Ho Municipality by the National Secretariat (CSOs platform on the SDGs) in partnership with GIZ Agenda 2030-support for decentralization Reforms as part of localizing and visualizing the Sustainable Development Goals and coordinating activities of Civil Society organizations in the district following the United Nations declaration of the adoption of the sustainable development goals in 2015. The meeting brought together a total number 29 community based NGOs. Miss Gertrude Elleamoh, speaking on behalf of GIZ stressed the need to build the capacity of CSOs to collect the right data on the SDGs that could be incorporated as part of national data on the SDGs. Titus Krummacher, an Advisor at GIZ support for decentralization Reforms (SFDR) team encouraged CSOs to collaborate with their respective District/municipal assemblies in order to strategize and work on sectors in which the district/municipal is deficient in.c The platform now has a total membership of 40 organizations. The purpose of the platform is to coordinate and strengthen the efforts of Civil Society organizations in localizing and visualizing the Sustainable Development Goals.
